KDE has announced the availability of 4.8 version of KDE Plasma Workspace. Changeset first:
- Redesigned power management, integrated with activities
- Plasma desktop gets QtQuick-based Plasma widgets
- Faster and more scalable file management, Dolphin gets new display engine
- KSecretService, new framework for password and credential management
- Touch-friendly components and better interoperability
- Plasma environment to take advantage of QML (UI framework part of Nokia Qt toolkit)
