Microsoft has just released an update for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 that optimizes the performance of AMD's Bulldozer CPUs. AMD's recently released Bulldozer CPUs were not able to perform up to the mark due to the lack of support for threading logic in Windows was not optimized to use SMT (simultaneous multithreading)scheduling. The hotfix can be downloaded from here.
If you have already purchased a Bulldozer CPU, please let us know if you notice any performance improvements (for multithreaded applications and benchmarks) after applying this patch.
