Another content rich tablet, Nook Tablet

B&N has announced a new tablet, B&N Nook Tablet. This 7" tablet is a lot similar to BN Nook Color, differences being few h/w upgrades and additional content format/codec support. Here is a list of key features:

  • 7" 1024 X 600 resolution 16M color display with IPS panel
  • Adjustable font. 8 text sizes, 6 font styles
  • 1GHz TI OMAP4 (dual-core) processor with 1GB RAM
  •  Up to 11.5 hours of reading or 9 hours of video without recharging with wireless off
  • 16 GB (up to 10,000 books) built-in memory, microSD cards supported
  • Built in Wi-Fi
  • Flash Player supported web browser
  • Email client
  • Record narration for kids' Read and Record™ books using built-in microphone
  • Documents supported: XLS, DOC, PPT, TXT, DOCM, XLSM, PPTM, PPSX, PPSM, DOCX, XLX, PPTX
  • Videos supported: MP4, Adobe Flash Player format, 3GP, 3G2 MKV, WEBM (Video Codecs: H.264, MPEG-4, H.263, VP8) 
  • Image formats supported: JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP 
  • Audio codecs: MP3, MP4, AAC, AMR, WAV, OGG (Audio Codecs MP3, AAC, AMR, LPCM, OGG Vorbis)
