Samsung announced SwipeIt media sharing app

Samsung released a new application in Android market to share videos/photos from mobile device to TVs. Using the app seems to be pretty simple:

  • Install the app on your android device
  • Make sure  your TV and android device are connected to home Wi-FI network
  • Launch the app on your TV and connect to the TV from your device using the TV code and start sharing
  • Multiple users can share content to same TV using their devices.

Plans for future versions (via android market page):

  • Support to "share" pictures and videos from the built in Gallery, in addition to the one row browser in the app.

  • Support to select ranges of pictures or videos by date (month, etc) in addition to album name, in order to filter and make it easier to find the content you want.

  • Fast forward and rewind control for videos (right now it only supports pause and play, due to complications with the content player on the TV).

  • Enhanced by Zemanta
