It took just four months for Android market to move from 300,000 apps to 400,000 apps and it will only be a matter of time for Android market to overtake iTunes App store in quantity (don't ask me about quality, you know the answer). The number of publishers/devs is nearing 100,000 mark. As shown below, you can see that Free apps command lions share (around two thirds of apps are free).
