Sony releases Walkman Z, powered by Android

Finally, a worthy Android powered PMP. We feel that this gadget is few years late in the market. Anyways, the specs first.
  • Android 2.3
  • 1GHz Tegra 2
  • 4.3" 800x480 touch display
  • 8GB for $249, 16GB for $279, 32GB for $329
  • Sony Music Unlimited
  • 13.5mm EX-HP in ear monitors bundled
  • 801.11n, FM, bluetooth, HDMI out, DLNA streaming
  • S-Master MX amp
  • 20 hours of music and 5 hours of video
  • Sony Throw to stream media to supported Bravia TV
Lets wait and see if this new Walkman will turn the tables for Sony (which is highly unlikely though and if successfull, can be made into movie titled Mission Impossible 5)

  1. I agree; this is definitely late coming but it was totally worth the wait. I heard about the Walkman Z from a coworker of mine at DISH, he said it was announced at CES so I had to check it out. It’s now on the top two of my list of awesome gadgets announced at CES. It got beat out by the Hopper, DISH’s Whole-Home HD DVR. The Hopper has a ton of storage space available for recordings and lets viewers access the same DVR content in up to four rooms. It’s pretty amazing but so is the Walkman Z since it has access to the Android Market and enough memory for my entire music library. Maybe I’ll get these for my birthday in April.
